# Forecasts vs Predictions

The terms forecast and prediction are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.

A prediction is usually an individual's view about what will happen in the future, whereas a forecast is an estimate of future outcomes based on available information.

Glimpse focuses on forecasts.

Rather than asking a single person what they think will happen, Glimpse aggregates information from many market participants and converts it into a live probability forecast.

As participants react to news, data and changing market conditions, the forecast updates automatically.

This creates a dynamic view of market expectations rather than a static opinion.

The goal is not to determine who is right but to better understand what outcomes the market currently considers most likely.
